Code for Laser Range Finder?
Equip binoculars> place square reticule over object> press Fire button> range-to-target appears.
I use this thing in-game, especially for long-range shots with M107/M82A1 (Uphill Battle), for example. It's also helpful when aiming the B-300/MK153 Mod 0/SMAW-- anything over ~250m, aim a little high, and the PF-98/Queen Bee-- anything over ~300m, aim a little high.
But is there code for it? What I mean is, can I force a player to use that laser range finder in order to complete an objective? If so, this would be beyond awesome. If not, I have to shake my fist at Codemasters for wasting an awesome in-game tool.

As far as I know... a fist shake will be required.

Re: Code for Laser Range Finder?
The closest you can come is use the code discussed to trigger a mock communication like "target identified - bearing [25] degrees [1243] meters" - using a narrow cone from a required vantage point at a set distance should make someone use the bino to find a fixed target

Thanks, John. Sorry this is late. I'm in the middle of packing/moving/trying not to commit murder.

Re: Code for Laser Range Finder?
I'm on a break. There's a box top with a mission idea scribbled on it, and I'm damned if I know what's in the box...

Your next objective!
Re: Code for Laser Range Finder?
Next objective is... Moving later? We were supposed to move house this weekend coming, now we're not.
Fine. I'll play with the EDx instead!

Re: Code for Laser Range Finder?
at least you will be able to shoot an enemy combatant in the face without an after action report
